We realized the Problem: budding Food Entrepreneurs cannot easily access the Key Success Factors in retail New Product Development and retail New Product Launch. This creates a barrier to entry in retail distribution channels where food is sold. Additionally there are the challenges for consumer trial (getting the consumer to try the product for the first time) and repeat purchase (getting them to come back for more). Our objective at The FoodPreneur was to develop a program in Food Entrepreneurship that consists of two broad components. The first is New Product Development that focuses on creating shelf ready products. The second is New Product Launch that focuses on obtaining retail distribution and ultimately achieving consumer trial and repeat purchase.
